Let’s Go!
Have you wanted to try carnivore but were intimidated on what to eat? What to cook? How to eat out at a restaurant?
Join us on January 1st as we kick off World Carnivore month - I will be sharing several times a week on my YouTube cannel tips, tricks, recipes and meal plans to help make this month the kick off for your carnivore lifestyle. Feel free to reach out on my Instagram page, or my YouTube channel to let me know how you are doing!
Getting Started
Basic Rules for our 28 day reset
First things first - let’s establish the ground rules.
Prioritize protein and EAT MEAT. Especially in your first week if you need more food to be satiated - beef steaks were always a great source for me to feel full and curb cravings.
Drink plenty of water - but make sure you have good electrolytes to balance. I like LMNT, you can get a free sample pack with order here. My personal favorites are the citrus and the grapefruit - hubby loves the Mango Chili - and we both like Watermelon & Raspberry occassionally. I also LOVE to drink my electrolytes from my HydroJug - leak proof and fun colors - and I get mine personalized! If you want 10% off your own HydroJug click here.
Get movement! I wish I would have started this sooner - but since August of 2023 I have leveraged the BetterMe app - and I love it! I started with the wall pilates series you can find here, but now I do many different pilates options and stretching workouts with the app. If you use the link above, code AshleyKalkan will get you 30% off your first 3 months. I have not missed a day since starting and even if it is only a quick 10 minute workout I commit that time to myself to feel better - and it helps with a sense of accomplishment throughout the day!
Don’t look for substitutes - stay consistent in the foods you can have and don’t try to carnivore-fy something. Trust me - steaks, grilled chicken, boiled shrimp, chicken salad, tuna salad - there are tons of options that perfectly carnivore and perfectly god all by themselves. Don’t try to make carnivore bread, carnivore cookies during this challenge.
Typical Day for Me
Breakfast
EarlyBird Cocktail
EarlyBird Cocktail - I drink my EarlyBird which is a nootropic supplement drink to give energy, and deliver vitamins. I mix one scoop of the Mimosa EarlyBird in the EarlyBird orange traveler along with 2 scoops of Arma Colostrum in the Blood Orange flavor. Colostrum is great for seasonal allergies, immunity and also supports hair, skin and nails.

Mid Morning Latte
When I am not on a carnivore reset, I will go to the local Starbucks and order a grande blonde latte, breve (half and half) with 3 Splendas. Since we are doing a reset I will order the same thing but with NO Splenda. I know, I know - I am really committing with y’all here lol.
Lunch
Working From Home Lunch
Leftovers are usually my go to if I am working from home. This is where grilling extras the night before, cooking up additional ground beef, and having canned tuna or a rotisserie chicken can make for quick reheat or mix up lunches! If you follow my friend Laura - her and her husband make fantastic lunches and you can follow her instagram or check out her YouTube channel here for lots of ideas.
Lunches Out
If I am working or having lunch out with a friend, I always order an a la cart 4 oz of meat, or a steak. Here are tips for ordering out:
Steakhouse - steak or chicken - ask if there is an a la carte option.
Mexican Restaurant - I always get carnitas, beef or chicken fajita a la cart with a side of guacamole, sour cream, and shredded cheese - bring along chicharrones to enjoy queso!
Chinese Food - to be honest I avoid as they typically have very sugary sauces and it is hard to navigate.
Indian Food - any kind of kebabs works great
Italian Food - steak if possible, avoid any pasta or pasta sauces - if cream based such as Alfredo ask if there is flour used as thickener
Sandwich Shops - Get any sandwich you want and double the meat, just eat without the bread! This is actually one of the easiest options
Dinner
Grilling out is the best!
I like to put Hubby to work - grilling chicken thighs, ribeyes, NY Strips, or if we get real fancy-like filet mignons. Picanhas are a real treat - and I will try to get hubby to make a video of how he does those - they are truly amazing sirloins.
For the oven you can do parmesan pork, pan fried pork chops, chicken breasts, or baked mayo chicken - all of these we will be prepping this month so follow along for the recipes - I will be posting here in recipes and on my Instagram as reels and stories!
